Adv. David Hodak is one of the lead practitioners in corporate, capital markets and mergers and acquisition.
David advises clients on the structure of complex commercial transactions, taxation matters and finance, both in Israel and abroad. He is a key player in designing M&A in Israel and abroad. David has led the legal representation for numerous public companies in connection with their local and international public offerings of stocks and bonds, and has advised directors and CEOs on corporate issues. In addition, David advises the Israeli government and governmental agencies with respect to privatization and debt financing as well as local and international banks.
David has been a key player in the high-tech arena in Israel for the past 35 years. In his tenure, David has led numerous IPO’s of hi-tech companies in the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, NASDAQ and other stock exchanges.
Following the last global crisis in 2008, David Hodak was appointed by the Israeli Ministry of Finance as the chairman of the Committee to Determine Parameters for Consideration by Institutional Investors (insurance companies, pension funds, provident funds) in the debt market (the “Hodak Committee”) in 2009. He was a member of the Israel Securities Authority Committee on the Structure and Content of Annual Reports and Prospectuses (the “Barnea Committee”) in 2001 and he served as a member of the Israel Securities Authority Committee on the Encouragement of Venture Capital in Israel of 1994 (the “Vardi Committee”).
David worked for two years at Weil Gotshal & Manges in New York specializing in securities, mergers and acquisitions and international transactions, as well as the representation of Israeli companies overseas.
He represents technology-based clients in many fields of technological innovation, as well as Israeli and international VC funds investing in technology in Israel.
David has developed excellent working relationships in China and Hong Kong. As the head of our China desk, David advised over the years many large M&A deals between Israeli and Chinese companies.
David served as a lieutenant colonel in the Armored Corps of the Israeli Defense Forces.
