Adv. Ashok J. Chandrasekhar has for several decades been the counsellor of choice for multinational corporations investing in and acquiring Israeli companies and for Israeli companies engaging with multinational corporations.
Ashok specializes in the representation of clients in the hi-tech sector and has been involved in hundreds of international transactions, including many of the most significant deals in the Israeli market. He represents acquirers and target companies in cross-border mergers and acquisitions; handles investments for venture capital funds, private equity funds, strategic investors, and tech companies; advises Israeli companies on forming strategic connections with foreign partners; and is a trusted advisor to Israeli tech companies and their investors from their early stages to maturity and exits.
Among Ashok’s clients are the world’s leading technology corporations, groundbreaking hi-tech companies, and a long list of well-known funds and private investors. He works on a regular basis with clients from the US, Europe, and the Far East.
Ashok has been recognized as one of Israel’s leading corporate, M&A, venture capital, and hi-tech attorneys by a number of international guides, including Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500. He was chosen as one of the 100 most influential people in the Israeli hi-tech industry by the leading Israeli technology website GEEKtime.
Alongside his professional activity, he serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of the People (of which he was Chairman for approximately ten years), the world’s first U.S.-accredited, tuition-free, online, non-profit, degree-granting institution.
From 1990 to 1991, Ashok served as law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge J.P. Vukasin Jr. of the Northern District of California. From 1991 to 1993, he was an associate in the International Transactions Department of Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro (currently known as Pillsbury, Winthrop, Shaw, Pittman).
